Hands-On Electrolysis Training on Live Models
The Electrologist Program combines classroom learning with 200 clock hours of work-based clinical application. Under the supervision of a medical doctor and a Florida-licensed electrologist, students gain practical experience while working with live male and female models, different skin types, and a variety of treatment areas.

Electrologist Program Curriculum
The 320-hour Electrologist Program combines 120 hours of theory with 200 hours of work-based clinical application. Related subjects are grouped below to make the curriculum easier to explore.
Theory – 120 Hours
Introduction to electrolysis, Galvanic, Thermolysis and Blend, electricity principles, and epilator equipment.
Laser and light-based hair-removal physics, safety, and precautions.
Integumentary system, circulatory and nervous systems, endocrinology, biology of hair growth, and skin assessment.
Blood-borne pathogens/HIV/AIDS, bacteriology and sterilization, and Florida laws and rules.
Consultations and clinic/office management.
Clinical Training – 200 Hours
Probe and forceps coordination, insertions, Thermolysis, Blend and Galvanic equipment instruction.
Hands-on equipment instruction for laser and light-based hair removal.
Sanitation and sterilization plus client pre- and post-treatment procedures.
Practical client assessment and consultation.
Clinical treatment procedures across the modalities included in the program.
Visual/library study and exam review and preparation.
Your Path to Florida Electrologist Licensure
Graduation earns you a Diploma in Electrolysis. Florida licensure is a separate process that includes the required examination and state license application.
Complete the Program
Finish the approved Electrologist Program and earn your Diploma in Electrolysis.
Pass the Florida IBEC Exam
Schedule and pass the IBEC Electrology, Laser and IPL Exam-FL through Prometric.
Apply for Your Florida License
After passing the exam, submit your Florida electrologist licensure application and required supporting documents to the Electrolysis Council office.
