Cosmetology

The primary objective of the Cosmetology Program is to prepare students for the state licensing examination to become a licensed cosmetologist. A licensed cosmetologist’s opportunities include working in beauty salons, resort hotels and the opportunity to own his or her own salon.

We utilize flexible scheduling, which may be individualized to meet working student’s needs.The Cosmetology Program takes 1200 clock hours to complete. Following subjects are covered:

  • Hair Shaping
  • Hairstyling
  • Hair Coloring
  • Chemical Waving
  • Shampoos and Rinses
  • Scalp Treatments, Hair Care Rinses
  • Facials including Hair Removal
  • Manicures, Nail Extensions, Pedicures
  • Sanitation, Bacteriology
  • Florida Law

Upon completion: Diploma and Eligibility for State Board Exam.

Full Specialist

This program is 600 hour/333 minimum service hours exact combination of the Nail Technician and Skin Care/Facial Specialist Programs. Students may start with the Nail or the Facial portion of the program.

This program may be completed in 15 weeks on a 40 hour per week schedule and in 20 weeks on a 30 hour per week schedule. Scheduling is flexible to meet student’s needs.

Upon completion: Diploma and Eligibility for License by registration. State Board Exam is not required.

Nail Technician

This program is one of the quickest ways to enter the cosmetology field. In 6 weeks for full time student at 40 hours per week or in 8 weeks for part time student at 30 hours per week, a person can qualify for state registration to work in Florida doing manicures, pedicures, and nail extensions.

We utilize flexible scheduling, which may be individualized to meet working student’s needs. The Nail Technician program takes 240 hours with the minimum of 165 nail services.

Skin Care/Facial

This program is 300 hours as detailed below. In 7.5 -8 weeks for morning student at 40 hours per week or in 10 weeks for evening student at 30 hours per week, a person can qualify for state registration to work in Florida.

We utilize flexible scheduling, which may be individualized to meet working student’s needs.

  • Hair Removal
  • Makeup
  • Essential Oils
  • Color Analysis

Barbering

The primary objective of the Barbering Program is to prepare students for the state licensing examination to become a licensed Barber. A licensed barber’s opportunities include working in beauty salons, resort hotels and the opportunity to own his or her own salon.

We utilize flexible scheduling, which may be individualized to meet working student’s needs. The Barbering Program takes 1200 clock hours to complete. Following subjects are covered:

  • Florida Laws and Rules for Barbering
  • Salon Safety, Sanitation and Sterilization
  • Shampooing
  • Hair Cutting and Sculpturing
  • Hairstyling
  • Hair Coloring
  • Hair Structure and Chemistry Shampoos and Rinses
  • Scalp Treatments, Hair Care Rinses
  • Shaving, Beard and Mustache
